Abstract: A vineyard in southern Spain faced high electricity tariffs and irrigation-related power pressure. GREEF Energy custom-designed a 20kW permanent magnet wind turbine + 15kW solar PV + GREEF intelligent controller + Deye hybrid storage inverter wind-solar-storage hybrid system. After six months of operation, annual generation exceeds 42,000 kWh, electricity bills dropped by 76%, and energy independence is significantly improved.
The vineyard is located in Andalusia, southern Spain, with average annual wind speeds of 8.5–9.5 m/s and abundant solar radiation. The owner originally relied on grid electricity, paying about $19,500/year. Key pain points included:
· High irrigation electricity consumption during summer, with expensive tariffs causing cost pressure;
· Desire to increase renewable energy share, reduce carbon emissions, and cope with grid fluctuations;
· Need for a reliable system that generates power and provides backup electricity.
· Wind turbine: 20kW low-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator, low start-up torque, cut-in wind speed 2.7 m/s;
· Solar PV: 15kW high-efficiency solar panel array;
· Controller: GREEF PCTC-20kW intelligent MPPT wind controller;
· Inverter: Deye hybrid storage inverter – supports wind-solar hybrid, smart energy management, and on-grid / off-grid switching;
· Battery storage: 40kWh LiFePO₄ battery bank;
· System feature: Wind-solar + storage design – priority to self-consumption during daytime; surplus stored or fed into grid; battery supplies power at night or during grid failures.
Installation and commissioning completed in 38 days:
· The wind turbine uses a high-strength tower and IP65 protection, suitable for Mediterranean climate;
· System topology: PMG + Solar → GREEF controller → Deye hybrid inverter → loads + battery + grid;
· Both Deye inverter and GREEF controller support remote monitoring via App, fully compliant with local grid-connection standards.![]()
