Abstract
In a mountainous village in Panama at an altitude of 1800 meters, the weak grid experiences 8–10 power outages per month during the rainy season, peak electricity prices are high, and the cost of diesel generator backup remains exorbitant. 1. Project Background and Challenges

Villagers and farms rely on a weak grid + diesel generator for power, facing three major pain points:

Landslides during the rainy season cause 8–10 outages per month, interrupting lighting, water pumps, and refrigeration.
Peak electricity price of CNY 1.2/kWh + diesel transport cost of CNY 12/liter, annual electricity expenditure nearly CNY 110,000.

The client urgently needed a solution that allows selling power when the grid is available and remains uninterrupted when off-grid.

2. Customized Solution

The Greef team conducted on-site measurements (water head 15m, flow rate 0.8 m³/s) and customized the following system:

Core: 30kW low-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator (150 rpm, brushless)
Controller: GREEF intelligent controller
Energy Storage: 100kWh LiFePO₄ battery pack + low-temperature insulated enclosure
Inverter: 50kVA hybrid inverter

Why this configuration?

-40°C resistant flame-retardant cables + harmonic suppression filters
Battery heating pads + intelligent low-temperature start algorithm
Modular topology: "turbine → PM generator → hybrid controller → battery ↔ inverter → grid/load", supporting future expansion for hydro-solar complementarity

Installation completed in only 6 days, with first grid connection zero faults after remote commissioning.
