Both the stator and rotor are structured as flat discs that utilize axial air gap magnetic flux. They are alternately positioned along the axial direction, which allows for a unique configuration. This design enables a low-speed operation, ease of starting at low wind speeds, and compact dimensions. The GDG series disc-type permanent magnet generators come in two variations: outer rotor and inner rotor types.
