Product Overview
The GREEF NEW ENERGY GDG series features a disc-type permanent magnet generator that operates without an iron core. This innovative design integrates the spindle and rotor into a stacked disc shape, with the stator fixed in the center and rotors positioned on both sides. The spindle contains only windings and lacks an iron core, enhancing overall performance.
Both stator and rotor adopt a flat disc configuration utilizing axial air gap magnetic flux. These components are arranged alternately along the axial direction. The generator's short axial length and large diameter support a multi-pole structure, enabling high power-to-weight ratio, low speed rating, and low wind speed starting capability.
The GDG series is particularly well-suited for direct-drive vertical axis wind turbine applications due to its low wind resistance. The series includes two configurations: outer rotor (stationary shaft, non-rotating casing) and inner rotor (stationary casing, rotating shaft), offering flexibility for various installation requirements.

“I built a small pico hydro system on the creek behind my off-grid cabin. The water head is only 3 meters and flow rate around 0.2 m³/s – too low for most generators. This axial flux coreless unit starts generating usable power at just 150 RPM. No cogging, no iron loss, and it’s silent. I’m getting 300-400W continuously, 24/7. My old induction generator would barely light an LED at that speed. Absolutely perfect for low-head hydro.”
